Motorola WAVE PTX – Helping to keep our streets clean

Motorola WAVE PTX has been successfully trialled and will be deployed with local refuse collection teams.

The teams required a communication solution that:

• Could work over a wide area
• Provided instant communication at a push of a button
• Was robust given the work environment
• Could be operated safely while driving
• Had transparency in terms of costs

The refuse trucks will be kitted out with the TLK150. Each vehicle can be fitted quickly with the TLK150 providing the driver with nation-wide coverage and the ability to communicate safely at a push of a button.  Talk groups can be created to allow communication back to depot and or amongst fellow drivers.  The sharing of information between drivers is useful as it allows all parties to give updates on road conditions, schedules and security.

Selected team members will be provided with the Motorola WAVE PTX TLK100.   This provides an easy to use, robust two-way radio with clear audio.  Operatives will be able to communicate with the depot and other team members across their designated area due to the wide area coverage that is available via 3G/4G.

Back at the depot, the Motorola WAVE PTX Dispatch will provide a centralised communication point.  They will be able to log in from any PC and share various information and make group or individual calls.  Dispatch will also allow the dispatcher to track their teams on a map and efficiently dispatch workers based on real-time location.
