WAVE PTX App – Police dog training centre

The Motorola WAVE PTX APP has been utilised in many sectors over the past 12 months.  Our latest addition sees the APP deployed with the Police, Search and Tracker Dog Training Centre.

The process of training these dogs will often take a minimum of two years and they will encounter a variety of environments in mountain and lowland areas.  Typically, the search dogs will fall into three areas:

• Air scenting search dogs.
• Scent specific trailing search dogs.
• Drowned victim search dogs.

Motorola WAVE PTX App

With large, uncompromising areas covered, communication is critical for the handler.  By adopting the Motorola WAVE PTX APP, the handler can still use their smartphone or turn the smartphone into a push-to-talk two-way radio.

The App will provide you with fast, secure and reliable PTT communication at the touch of a button.  You can collaborate with an individual, predefined group or ad-hoc groups.  The sharing of information is invaluable to such users, with the ability to share text, video, audio and photos.

With three main training sites spread across London, Bristol and Sweden, WAVE PTX allows the three sites to communicate instantly due to its Europe-wide coverage.  The sites can talk at a push of a button and share valuable training information via photos and videos.

Motorola WAVE PTX Dispatch

in addition to the App, WAVE PTX Dispatch allows them to take their communication further.  From their main site, using the Dispatch console, the senior co-ordinator manages the teams across the three sites.  Using the location and tracking function, the co-ordinator can have a visual on the handler and track their movements.  They will also share video footage from one site to another.  In addition to these functions, the co-ordinator also carries out individual and group calls.  WAVE PTX Dispatch has bridged the communication gap when overseeing the three sites, all at different locations.
